I kind of bristle as this being treated as a “mistake”. This definitely looks as though it could have been an intentional artistic decision, especially since it appears similar to the effects for warps and the vanish cap.

This is awesome but i feel like it should have yoshi voice clips instead of the noises from the snes games. N64 was the 1st time yoshi could be realized to his fullest extent. They went crazy with his voice on the n64.
Maybe that's because that game had Mario as the main feature and a hint of peach. Makes sense he doesn't talk yet.
@@EndyMX you do realize this is a hack, right? Im saying within the context of it being an n64 game it would have been more fitting for yoshi to make his noises rather than just the old snes sound effects. If youve played any n64 game with yoshi in it youd understand why thatd make sense.
@@Soulintent95 Sure, I'm not dumb. What I'm saying is that whoever made this hack probably did it thinking "how would have been like if yoshi was playable?" and it wouldn't have voice, exactly like Mario Kart 64. 😉
@@EndyMX yoshi does use his voice in mk64 though dude its just more of an animalistic noise and that sort of thing is exactly what im saying should be in the hack. Not sure what part of this you arent getting. Yoshi has never actually talked beyond saying yoshi and making noises, which is what he did in the n64 era. The mk64 noises were still his voice.

I feel like this is a mistake anyone would make, and it was probably never fixed during development because nobody looked close enough to realize it was wrong.

Might be Mandela Effect, but I had the PAL version which released later with various patches and I seem to remember it having "fixed" smoke.
